Freedom is a flower

It needs to be cultivated. It requires steady consistent work, and the combination of the right conditions throughout.

The ground needs to be prepared, the seeds sown long prior and at the right time. The right combination of nutrients, sunlight and water need to be supplied for a while. Eventually, a plant sprouts, then grows , and then at last flowers.

Freedom is like a flower, for it to flourish, for us to enjoy its benefits, a lot of environment management is required. Not just today, not just for now, but everyday all year round.

Create and maintain the right political, social and economical conditions, fight and advocate for peace unconditionally all the time - for without peace there can be no freedom.

Build bridges not walls, bigger tables not taller fences.

See the value in each and every life, work towards equity and equality, the right to safety and opportunity; choose leaders who understand and uphold these values. Foster systems that make these possible and safeguard us from abuse.

Freedom is like a flower, when cultivated right it bears fruit - happiness and prosperity - and generates new seeds for future generations of flowers. It's on each and everyone of us to sow those seeds and cultivate them, so flowers can bloom and freedom can keep flourishing.

Freedom is like a flower, delicate and fragile. If, in its supporting environment, one of the factors breaks down, it dies.

Easily taken for granted, and gone too soon. Plucked from its base, and placed in a vase, soon it welts away.

And yet, as frail as it can be, a flower has supernatural strength. If freedom is like a flower, we are like its pollinators, utterly dependent on it and all the same vital to its survival. Like a bee knows the scent of every flower, we instinctively know the name of freedom
